Tampa finally got a couple of games in after a couple of days of rain and the end result is a doubleheader split with St. Lucie. In game one, the Yankees comeback fell short in a 5-4 loss. They scored three in the seventh inning but couldn’t push across the winning run. Daniel Brewer went three for four with a double, a run and an RBI. Eric Fryer went two for four. Ryan Zink took the loss and he fell to 4-7. He gave up four runs on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts in six innings.
Game two went substantially better and it was Lance Pendleton who threw a gem of a game. He gave up just a hit and a walk with two strikeouts in five shutout innings. Jonathan Hovis struck out two in a shutout seventh and he picked up his tenth save of the season. Seth Fortenberry went two for three with a double and a run while Daniel Brewer went two for four with a run.
