The Yankees scored just a pair of runs in a doubleheader with Rochester but they still walked away with one win because of some solid pitching. Game one was a 3-1 loss in which Matt DeSalvo gave up three runs in three innings of work. The loss dropped him to 7-5 and Brett Gardner drove in the lone run with a solo homer.
Game two saw the Yankees yet again scored just a single run but Kei Igawa got the job done on the mound. He improved to 4-4 and he gave up six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six shutout innings. Gardner again came through with a double and he scored the only run of the game for either side.
