Grant Duff fell to 11-8 on the season with a tough start in the RiverDogs 11-8 loss to Lexington. He gave up four runs on six hits and five walks with four strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.
Mitchell Hilligoss went two for four with a solo homerun and a walk. Timothy O’Brien went two for four with a double and an RBI.
The RiverDogs held off a late inning surge by Legends and won it 8-7. Kevin Smith was the hitting star and he went two for five with a homerun and five RBIs. Timothy O’Brien went two for four with a double, a homerun and three RBIs.
Paul Patterson improved to 1-0 with a nice start. He gave up one run on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings of work.
The RiverDogs made up their rain out game from the night before and lost both ends of a doubleheader to Hickory. The first game was a 5-2 loss and Ivan Nova took the loss with a rough start. He gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts in four innings of work and the loss dropped him to 5-5 on the season. Kevin Smith belted a solo homerun for half of the RiverDogs runs.
The second game was closer but it was still a loss. Jonathan Hovis took the loss when he gave up a run in the eighth inning. Eric Hacker gave up three runs in five innings in his start and Kyle Anson and Timothy O’Brien both hit solo shots in the 4-3 loss.
Timothy O’Brien had a huge day at the plate in the RiverDogs 13-8 win over Greenville. He went three for five with two homeruns and four RBIs. Joseph Muich went three for five with a double, a homerun two RBIs and two runs.
Eric Hacker improved to 7-2 on the season with a nice start. He gave up two unearned runs on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts in six innings.
