The GCL Yankees won the third and final game of their best of three game series with GCL Dodgers for the GCL championship. Timothy Dennehy threw six great frames in the final and he gave up one run on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
Abraham Almonte was the hitting star. He went three for four with a double, two RBIs and three runs. Jesus Montero went two for five with a double, a homerun and two RBIs.
The GCL Yankees took care of the GCL Tigers 9-7 and it was Brandon Laird who provided the bulk of the offense. He homered twice and drove in five runs in the win. Prilys Cuello went two for four with a triple, two RBIs and a run.
Timothy Dennehy improved to 5-1 despite getting roughed up. He gave up five runs (three earned) on eight hits with two strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.
Timothy Dennehy threw five shutout innings in a nice start in the GCL Yankees 3-2 win over the GCL Tigers. He gave up just three hits and a walk with three strikeouts and the win pushed his record to 4-1 on the season.
Wady Rufino was one of the hitting stars and he went two for four with a two run homer. Brandon Laird went two for four and he scored two runs.
Two GCL Yankees’ pitchers combined to shutout the GCL Tigers and they held them to three hits in their 5-0 win. Timothy Dennehy gave up just two hits in five innings and Manuel Barreda gave up just one hit in four innings and he improved to 1-0 on the season.
Kelvin Castro was the hitting star in the win. He went three for four with two doubles and one run.
Timothy Dennehy improved to 1-1 on the season with a solid relief appearance in the GCL Yankees 5-4 win over the GCL Phillies. He gave up one hit and two walks with two strikeouts in four shutout innings.
Prilys Cuello hit a solo homerun in the win. Brandon Laird went two for four with a double and two RBIs.
Timothy Dennehy had a rough outing in the GCL Yankee’s 10-0 rain shortened loss to the GCL Tigers. He gave up five runs on nine hits and one walk with one strikeout in 2 1/3 innings.
There’s no real hitting highlights in this one. The offense was held to two singles and nobody drew a walk.
