Tampa took care of Dunedin 6-1 and it was Ryan Pope who set the stage on the mound. He improved to 1-1 and he gave up one run on four hits and one walk with eight strikeouts in five innings of work.
The Yankees racked up fifteen hits and three of those came from Eduardo Nunez. He doubled, drove in a run and scored twice while Tim Battle belted a two run homer.
Tampa ran into a major league pitcher on a rehab start and the end result was a two shutout. Eduardo Nunez picked up both hits and one of them was a triple.
Grant Duff gave up the only run of the game and he took the loss. Ryan Pope threw four shutout innings but that nice start went to waste.
Ryan Pope improved to 3-0 on the season with a nice start in the Yankees 4-2 win over Brooklyn. He gave up two runs on six hits and one walk with seven strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
Austin Krum went three for five with a double and two RBIs. Braedyn Pruitt went two for five with an RBI and a run.
Ryan Pope had an excellent start in the Yankees 2-1 win over Lowell. He gave up just three hits and he struck out eight in six shutout frames.
Justin Snyder drove in both Yankee runs with a single and a double. Christopher Raber singled and scored a run.
Staten Island blew out Vermont and they did it by scoring nine runs in the fourth inning in a 13-2 win. Taylor Holiday led the way at the plate and he went three for six with a homerun, four RBIs and two runs. Justin Snyder went one for three with three walks, two runs and two RBIs.
Ryan Pope picked up the win with a nice start. He gave up two runs on seven hits and a walk with eight strikeouts in six innings.
Staten Island ran up the scored in their 9-5 win over Aberdeen and it was the light hitting Isaiah Howes who led the way. He went two for five with a double, a homerun and three RBIs. David Williams also had a nice game and he went two for four with a double, a walk, two RBIs and a run.
Ryan Pope picked up his first win of the season. He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts in five innings of work.
Staten Island blew a 1-0 lead in the top of the eighth only to come back and win it in the bottom half of the frame with two runs to make it a 3-2 final. The game winning run was a two RBI single by Jose Gil. Ryan Wehrle was the only Yankee hitter with two hits and he was also the only one to rack up an extra base hit with a double.
Jonathan Ortiz improved to 1-1 with 1 1/3 innings of shutout relief. He walked one and struck out four while Ryan Pope threw four shutout innings and struck out six in his start.
