Man, what a tough game to take. The Yankees took a 3-1 lead into the ninth only to see Jeff Karstens nice start go to waste. Ben Kozlowski and Ross Ohlendorf combined to give up three runs in the top of the ninth to turn that two run lead into a one run loss. With the loss, the SWB Yankees came to an end.
Jose Cruz, Jr. went two for four with a two run homer in the loss. Bronson Sardinha doubled twice and he scored a run.
Kevin Thompson was one of the hitting stars in SWB’s 5-2 win over Ottawa. He went four for five with an RBI and two stolen bases. Wil Nieves went three for five with a run and an RBI.
Ross Ohlendorf picked up the win with three solid innings of relief. He improved to 3-3 and he gave up one run on two hits with a strikeout.
SWB has put together an impressive winning streak and this time it was Ross Ohlendorf who picked up the win with a decent outing. He gave up three runs on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts in five innings. The win pushed his record to 2-3 on the season.
Kevin Reese went three for four with a run and an RBI. Shelly Duncan was hitless, but he drew four walks in the 7-3 win.
It’s another loss as SWB was blown out by Ottawa 9-2. Ross Ohlendorf took the loss and he gave up four runs on nine hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings. The pen gave up five runs as well and that didn’t help matters.
Both SWB runs came on one swing of the bat by Andy Phillips. He hit a two run homer to put the Yankees on the board in the ninth inning.
Shelly Duncan hit a huge three run homerun to cap off a five run fourth inning to lead the Yankees to the win. Angel Chavez also had a nice day at the plate and he went two for four with two runs and an RBI.
Ross Ohlendorf walked six batters in four innings. T.J. Beam picked up the win in relief as he threw 2 2/3 shutout innings.
Eric Duncan pushed the Yankees to a 5-3 come from behind win with a huge three run homerun in the sixth inning. Shelly Duncan drove in the other runs while Andy Phillips had two hits and two runs.
Ross Ohlendorf had a rough start but the pen picked him up. Justin Pope was particularly good and he picked up the win with two perfect innings.
