Roger Clemens might have struggled a bit in his last start for Trenton but he made up for it against a tough Mud Hens team and he held them scoreless through six innings. He gave just two hits and two walks and he struck out six before what should be his Yankees’ season debut next week.
Andy Phillips was the hitting star in the 2-0 win. He went two for three and he scored one of the runs.
Okay, it wasn’t that bad but you’d expect more from a future Hall of Famer. Clemens gave up three runs on six hits and four walks with five strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Noah Hall hit a solo homerun in the 4-3 loss. Jamal Strong was four for four and he drove in a run.
Roger Clemens starting for the Yankees was the big news of the day an he didn’t disappoint. He gave up just one run on three hits with two strikeouts in four solid innings. Bryan Villalona picked up the win with five shutout innings in which he gave up just two hits and two walks.
Reggie Corona pretty much was the offense in the 2-1 win. He hit a two run homerun in the third that put Tampa up for good.
