The Yankees edged Buffalo 11-9 and Andy Phillips played a big part in the win. He went two for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Raul Chavez went two for four with a homerun and three RBIs.
Kei Igawa picked up his first his first Triple A win of the season. He gave up one run on five hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in seven innings.
Just about everyone was a hitting star in the Yankees 13 run, 20 hit attack today. Raul Chavez homered twice, drove in three and scored three times while Kevin Thomspon had four hits and he came a homerun short of hitting for the cycle. He drove in one and and scored three times.
Colter Bean picked up the win with 5 1/3 solid innings of relief. He gave up two runs on three hits and he struck out six in the 13-4 win.
SWB lost to the Clippers 8-2 and Steven Jackson gave up most of the runs with a tough outing. He gave up six runs on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.
Raul Chavez drove in both Yankees runs with a double in the sixth inning. Bronson Sardinha didn’t get a hit, but he drew three walks and he scored one of the runs.
