Paul Patterson Throws Six Shutout Innings In RiverDogs Win

Paul Patterson improved to 3-2 on the season with a nice start in the RiverDogs 4-3 win over the Catfish.  He gave up three walks with six strikeouts in six innings of no-hit ball.

Mitchell Hilligoss was the hitting star in the win.  He went four for five with a double and he drove in two runs.

Grant Duff Throws Five Shutout Innings In RiverDogs Win

Grant Duff improved to 12-8 with a nice start in the RiverDogs 7-3 win over West Virginia.  He gave up two hits and a walk with five strikeouts in five shutout innings.

Seth Fortenberry led the way at the plate.  He went three for five with a double, two RBIs and a run.  Mitchell Hilligoss went two for five with a double, two RBIs and a run.

Paul Patterson fell to 1-1 on the season in a rough start in the RiverDogs 8-4 loss to West Virginia.  He gave up seven runs on eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.

Mitchell Hilligoss went three for five with with a double and an RBI.  Joseph Muich went two for four with a double, an RBI and a run.

John Axford Is Hit Hard In RiverDogs Loss

John Axford fell to 0-3 on the season with a rough start in the RiverDogs 10-3 loss to West Virginia.  He gave up six runs (five earned) on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts in three innings.

Kevin Smith went three for five with a homerun and three RBIs.  Mitchell Hilligoss singled twice and doubled in the loss.

Michael Dunn Is Hit Hard In RiverDogs Loss

Michael Dunn fell to 12-4 on the season in a rough start in the RiverDogs 5-4 loss to Lexington.  He gave up five runs on eight hits and two walks with three strikeouts in four innings of work.

Mitchell Hilligoss went two for four with a double, a walk, a run and an RBI.  Kevin Smith went two for four with a double, a walk and an RBI.

Grant Duff Is Hit Hard in RiverDogs Loss

Grant Duff fell to 11-8 on the season with a tough start in the RiverDogs 11-8 loss to Lexington.  He gave up four runs on six hits and five walks with four strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.

Mitchell Hilligoss went two for four with a solo homerun and a walk.  Timothy O’Brien went two for four with a double and an RBI.

Seth Fortenberry Powers RiverDogs to Win Over Hickory

Seth Fortenberry had only one hit but it was a big one in the RiverDogs 5-3 win over Hickory.  He belted a big three run homer in the fifth inning and the homerun was his eighteenth of the season.  Mitchell Hilligoss doubled twice, drove in a run and scored.

Luke Trubee picked up the win and he improved to 4-1.  He gave up one run on two hits with an impressive six strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.

RiverDogs Top Hickory In Ten Innings

Josue Calzado singled home Mitch Hilligoss in the bottom of the tenth inning to win it for the RiverDogs.  Hilligoss finished with two hits and he scored two runs while Calzado went three for five and he drove in another run with a solo homer.

Stephan Artz improved to 1-0 in the 3-2 win with an impressive relief outing.  He didn’t allow a baserunner in two shutout innings and he struck out five of the six batters he faced.

Mitchell Hilligoss Helps Hit RiverDogs to Win Over Greenville

Mitchell Hilligoss led the way at the plate for the RiverDogs in their 5-1 win over Greenville.  He went three for four with a double and two runs.  Seth Fortenberry helped out the cause with a two run homer in the fourth inning.

Jesse Hoover picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief.  He took over after a rain delay and the win pushed his record to 2-2 on the season.

Mitchell Hilligoss Hits Grand Slam In RiverDogs Win

The RiverDogs took it to the Sand Gnats and blew them out 12-4.  Mitchell Hilligoss led the way with a grand slam and he finished the game with two runs.  Kevin Smith went three for four with a double, a triple, a walk and two runs.

Eric Hacker picked up the win and he improved to 6-2 on the season.  He gave up one run on nine hits and one walk with two strikeouts in six innings of work.

RiverDogs Sweep Doubleheader Over Sand Gnats

The RiverDogs took care of the Sand Gnats in both of the games of their doubleheader.  In the first game, Michael Dunn had a nice start and he improved to 11-3 on the season in the 2-1 win.  He gave up one run on three hits and four walks with four strikeouts in six innings.  Mitchell Hilligoss tripled and he scored one of the two runs.

In the second game, Luke Trubee improved to 3-0 on the season with a 1 2/3 innings of shutout relief.  Chase Odenreider hit a solo homerun and he scored three runs in the 6-1 win.

RiverDogs Held to Single Run In Loss to Rome

The RiverDogs had a tough day at the plate in their 2-1 loss to Rome.   Seth Fortenberry singled and he drove in the only run for Charleston.  Mitchell Hilligoss singled and scored the only run.

Hector Noesi took the loss and he fell to 1-1 on the season.  He gave up two runs on five hits and a walk with one strikeout in three innings.

RiverDogs Score Two Late Runs To Beat Rome

The RiverDogs picked up two runs in the top of the eighth inning and those two runs turned out to be the difference in their 6-4 win over Rome.  Mitchell Hilligoss went three for five and he drove in a run while Christopher Kunda doubled and he drove in three runs.

Ferdin Tejada threw two shutout innings and he picked up the win.  He gave up two hits and he struck out three.

Grant Duff Throws Five Shutout Innings In RiverDogs Win

Grant Duff improved to 8-5 on the season with a nice start in the RiverDogs 2-0 win over Augusta.  He gave up six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five shutout innings.

Mitchell Hilligoss brought the big stick with him in this game.  He went two for four with a double and he drove in one of the two RiverDogs runs.

Brian Aragon Drives In Five In RiverDogs Win

The RiverDogs blasted the Sand Gnats 12-2 and Brian Aragon led the way with the stick.  He went three for five with a double, a homerun, five RBIs and two runs.  Seth Fortenberry also had a nice game and he went three for six with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.  Mitchell Hilligoss extended his hitting streak to three games with a single in six at bats.  Seriously, this is an amazing stretch for Hilligoss.  I don’t have a complete game log, but he’s reached base in his last 40+ games.

Lost in all of the offense was a really nice start by Grant Duff.  He gave up four hits and four walks with four strikeouts in six shutout innings and he improved to 7-4 on the season.

RiverDogs Split Doubleheader With Sand Gnats

The RiverDogs and Sand Gnats each took a game in their doubleheader.  In the first game, the RiverDogs scored three late runs but the comeback came up short in a 4-3 loss.  John Axford took the loss and he gave up three runs in two innings while Brian Aragon went one for three with two RBIs.  Mitchell Hilligoss singled and stole two bases.

Game two went quite a bit better with a 2-1 win.  David Robertson picked up the win with two innings of shutout relief.  Mitchell Hilligoss hit a solo homerun and he extended hit new hitting streak to two games.  Kyle Anson went two for three with a solo homerun.

Mitchell Hilligoss’ Hitting Streak Ends at 38 Games In RiverDogs Loss

It had to end eventually and whle Mitchell Hilligoss scored a run and drove in one, he didn’t pick up a hit to end his historic hitting streak at 38 games.  He can’t be blamed because nobody was really hitting in the 3-2 loss because the RiverDogs picked up just five hits. 

Ivan Nova dropped to 3-2 on the season with a decent start.  He gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with one strikeout in six innings.

Mitchell Hilligoss Extends Hitting Streak to 38 Games In RiverDogs Win

It didn’t come until his fourth at bat, but Mitchell Hilligoss extended his hitting streak to 38 games with a double.  You have to feel for Christopher Malec as the Mitchell Hilligoss show overshadowed an excellent day at the plate.  He went two for four with a grand slam and five RBIs.

Michael Dunn improved to 6-2 on the season with a nice start in the 5-2 win.  He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk with five strikeous in seven solid innings.

Grant Duff Pitches RiverDogs to Win Over Catfish

Grant Duff improved to 6-4 on the season with a nice start in the RiverDogs 6-2 win over the Catfish. He gave up one run on two hits with eight strikeouts in six innings of work.

Mitchell Hilligoss extended his hitting streak to 37 games with a very day at the plate.  He went four for five with a double, a homerun and two RBIs.

RiverDogs Blow Four Run Lead In Loss to Catfish

The RiverDogs jumped out to a 7-3 lead only to see the pen give up fve runs late to lost the game 8-7.  Jonathan Hovis took the loss and he gave up two runs in 1 2/3 innings.

Seth Fortenberry had three hits in the game including a solo homerun.  Kevin Smith went two for four with a double, two RBIs and a run.  Also, Mitch Hilligoss made history by hitting in a Sally League record 36 straight games.  Hopefully he can keep that streak going.

Rome Edges RiverDogs In High Scoring Game

The pitching went out the window in the RiverDogs 12-11 loss to Rome.  Edgar Soto was roughed up for seven runs in his start and Garrett Patterson gave up three runs (one earned) on two hits and two walks in 2/3 innings as he took the loss.

Mitchell Hilligoss had three singles and he scored three times in the loss.  Seth Fortenberry went two for six with three runs and an RBI while Austin Jackson doubled, drove in two and scored two runs.

Ivan Nova Pitches RiverDogs To Win Over Catfish

Ivan Nova got it done on the mound for the RiverDogs in their 3-2 win over the Catfish.  He gave up just two hits and a walk with four strikeouts in six shutout innings.

Mitchell Hilligoss played a part in two of the RiverDogs’ three runs.  He singled, scored and also drove in a run in the win.

RiverDogs Hitters Held In Check in Loss to Catfish

The RiverDogs lost 4-2 to Columbus with the offense picking up just two runs on six hits.  Mitchell Hilligoss singled twice and he scored two runs.  Brian Baisley went two for three and he drove in a run.

Michael Dunn took the loss and he dropped to 4-2 on the season.  He gave up three runs on eight hits and a walk with four strikeouts in five innings.

Jose Gil went two for three with an RBI.  Mitchell Hilligos went two for five with two doubles and a run.

RiverDogs Blasted By Asheville

Ivan Nova was roughed up and he took his first loss of the season in a 7-1 loss to Asheville.  He gave up four runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.

Eduardo Nunez drove in the only run of the game with a solo shot.  Both he and Mitchell Hilligoss had three hits in the game.

Brian Aragon Leads RiverDogs At The Plate In 7-4 Win Over Catfish

Brian Aragon had a big day at the plate in the RiverDogs 7-4 win over the Catfish.  He went four for four with two doubles, two RBIs and a run.  Mitchell Hilligoss also had a nice game and he went two for five with two runs.

Grant Duff picked up the win and he improved to 3-2.  He gave up three runs on eight hits and two walks with three strikeouts in five innings.

RiverDogs Top Catfish With Five Run Sixth Inning

The RiverDogs scored most of their runs all in a bunch with five run sixth inning as they beat the Catfish 6-4.  Mitchell Hilligoss went two for four with two RBIs and Seth Fortenberry went one for three with a walk and two runs.

Angel Reyes had mixed start.  He did give up three runs in five frames but he struck out seven.  David Robertson was very sharp in two innings of relief.  He held the Catfish hitless and he struck out five of the six batters he faced.

RiverDogs Get Solid Pitching in Doubleheader Sweep Over Kannapolis

The RiverDogs took both game of their doubleheader against Kannapolis and in each of the games, the pitching gave up just one run.  In the first game, Angel Reyes threw four shutout innings and struck out six in the start while Garrett Patterson picked up the win with three innings to close out the game.  Donald Hollingsworth tripled, drove in two and scored one in the 3-1 win.

In the second game, Timothy Norton had a really nice start. He gave up just one run on five hits and he struck out ten in 6 1/3 innings.  Mitchell Hillgoss was the hitting star. He went two for four with a double, two RBIs and a run.

Eric Hacker Has Another Nice Start in RiverDogs Win

Eric Hacker improved to 2-0 on the season with his second strong start.  He gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.

Mitchell Hilligoss had a nice game at the plate.  He went three for five with a double, a run and three RBIs in the 6-2 win.
