Mike Martinez improved to 4-4 on the season with a nice start in the Yankees 4-1 win over Sarasota. He gave up one run on three hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings of work.
Eduardo Nunez went two for three with a walk, a run and an RBI. Tim Battle went two for four with a run and an RBI.
Tampa was held to just a single run on six hits in their 7-1 loss to Clearwater. Francisco Cervalli had the only extra base hit of the game with a double and Austin Jackson went one for three and he scored the only run of the game for Tampa.
Mike Martinez took the loss and he fell to 2-3 on the season. He gave up three runs on six hits and two walks with one strikeout in four innings of work.
It wasn’t pretty, but Colin Curtis and Juan Miranda scored on a throwing error in the fourteenth inning and that gave Tampa the runs they needed to beat Fort Myers 6-4 in fourteen innings. Curtis finished the game with two runs. Jose Tabata two for five with two RBIs.

Tampa hitters managed just one run on six hits yesterday in their 3-1 loss to Dunedin. Edwar Gonzalez drove in the lone run for the Yankees and Juan Miranda went two for four with a double.

Erick Abreu had a tough start today for Tampa. He gave up three runs on seven hits in just three innings. Fortunately, the pen was very good today as three relievers combined to throw six no-hit innings. Mike Martinez was particularly good and he threw three no-hit frames to pick up the win.
Edwar Gonzalez went two for four with an RBI in the 4-3 win. Kevin Russo went two for three with a double and a run.
