Jeff Karstens was slated to start for the Yankees this year and after some rough starts and an injury, he found himself making a five stop rehab tour that ended with SWB where he ended up landing. That was SWB’s gain though because he’s been a solid pitcher down the stretch. In this one, he improved to 3-0 and he gave up five hits with ten strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
Jose Cruz, Jr. went three for four with an RBI. Mike Kinkade went one for two with a walk, an RBI and two runs.
The Yankees picked up their fifth straight win as they took care of the Red Sox 9-3. Mike Kinkade went three for five with a triple and three runs. Kevin Thompson went two for five with a double, a walk, two RBIs and a run.
Kei Igawa improved to 5-4 on the season. He gave up three runs on five hits and two walks with nine strikeouts in seven innings.
Daniel McCutchen fell to 3-2 on the season with a rough start in the Thunder’s 5-2 loss to Portland. He gave up four runs on eight hits and four walks with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
Mike Kinkade was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with a double and a run.
Chase Wright improved to 5-2 with one of his best starts of the season as he went the distance in a complete game shutout. He gave up four hits and two walks with three strikeouts in the 7-0 win.

Mike Kinkade helped push Trenton to an 8-4 win over Bowie. He went two for three with a walk, a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Noah Hall also got it done and he went three for five with two doubles, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
Daniel McCutchen had his roughest start since joining Trenton but it was good enough for the win. He gave up four runs on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in six innings.
Three errors led to two unearned runs in Trenton’s 5-2 loss to Portland and a decent start by Chase Wright went to waste as the offense failed to give him much run support. Wright gave up three runs on seven hits and five walks with two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings and the loss dropped him to 4-2 on the season.
Mike Kinkade was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with two doubles and a run.
Mike Kinkade hit a walk off RBI single in the bottom of the tenth inning as Trenton beat Portland 4-3 in extra frames. Kinkade finished the game with three hits as did Gabriel Lopez who also drove in a run.
Charlie Maning picked up the win after getting pushed down to Double A. He threw a shutout tenth inning.
Jeffrey Marquez improved to 12-8 on the season with a nice start in Trenton’s 5-2 win over Reading. He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits with three strikeouts in six innings.
Mike Kinkade singled twice and drove in three runs. Colin Curtis and Jamal Strong each singled, drew a walk and scored twice.
Trenton had plenty of hitting stars in their 11-4 win over Reading. Juan Miranda walked three times and scored three times. Colin Curtis went two for four with a walk and three runs while Mike Kinkade went one for four with three RBIs and a run.
Alan Horne improved to 11-4 with the win. He gave up three runs on six hits and five walks with six strikeouts in six innings of work.
