Kevin Smith was a perfect two for two with a two run homer as the RiverDogs topped Rome 5-3 in a five inning, rain shortened game. Brian Aragon also pitched in with a two run homer.
Luke Trubee improved to 5-1 with the win. He gave up just one hit with three strikeouts in three shutout innings.
Seth Fortenberry had only one hit but it was a big one in the RiverDogs 5-3 win over Hickory. He belted a big three run homer in the fifth inning and the homerun was his eighteenth of the season. Mitchell Hilligoss doubled twice, drove in a run and scored.
Luke Trubee picked up the win and he improved to 4-1. He gave up one run on two hits with an impressive six strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.
Luke Trubee gave up a run in the bottom of the ninth as the RiverDogs lost to Asheville 6-5. This was after a rough start by Eric Hacker, who gave up three runs on nine hits and four walks with a strikeout in five innings.
Seth Fortenberry was the hitting star in the loss. He went three for four with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
The RiverDogs took care of the Sand Gnats in both of the games of their doubleheader. In the first game, Michael Dunn had a nice start and he improved to 11-3 on the season in the 2-1 win. He gave up one run on three hits and four walks with four strikeouts in six innings. Mitchell Hilligoss tripled and he scored one of the two runs.
In the second game, Luke Trubee improved to 3-0 on the season with a 1 2/3 innings of shutout relief. Chase Odenreider hit a solo homerun and he scored three runs in the 6-1 win.
Nicholas Peterson walked the first two batters in the bottom of the tenth inning and while he didnt give up the losing runs on his watch, those two runners were the first two to score on a grand slam given up by Luke Trubee. so Peteron took the loss. Edgar Soto was decent in his start. He gave up three runs in five innings of work.

Angel Reyes lasted just 3 1/3 innings but he struck out nine batters. That’s nine of the ten outs he made. He wasn’t unhittable though. He did give up two runs on one hit and two walks in a no decision. Luke Trubee picked up the win with 1 2/3 innings of shutout relief.
