Trenton gave up a four run lead as the Mets pushed the game into extra innings but then Noah Hall drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the eleventh to win it for the Thunder. Colin Curtis was the hitting star in the win. He went four for six with two RBIs and two runs.
Justin Pope picked up the win despite giving up the tying run in the top of the ninth. He gave up one unearned run on two hits with a strikeout in three innings of relief.
Trenton lost 11-7 and while Tyler Clippard didn’t have a fantastic start, it was the pen who lost this one. Justin Pope gave up four runs and he fell to 1-2 on the season. Tim Lavigne was also knocked up for four runs in the loss.
Noah Hall had a nice day at the plate in the loss. He went two for five with a double, a homerun three RBIs and a run.
Justin Pope gave up two run in the top of the eleventh as the Thunder lost to the Fisher Cats 7-5. Pope dropped to 1-1 on the season and the eleventh inning was his third inning of work.
Alberto Gonzalez singled three times and drew a walk in the loss. Carlos Mendoza went two for five with a double and two RBIs.
Ian Kennedy didn’t get the decision in the Thunder’s 6-4 win even though he threw a nice game. He gave up just two runs on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. Justin Pope threw two no-hit shutout innings and he picked up the win.
Bronson Sardinha pretty much put the team on his back as far as the hitters go in this one. He went three for three with a triple, a homerun, four RBIs and two runs.
Justin Pope improved to 2-1 on the season with five shutout frames. He gave up three hits and a walk and he struck out two.
Chris Basak was the hitting star in the 5-2 win. He went two for three with two runs. Omir Santos hit a solo homerun.
SWB pitching was hammered a 17-4 loss to Ottawa. Steven Jackson was roughed up in his start and he gave up eight runs (four earned) on eight hits and three walks with one strikeout. Justin Pope also took it on the chin and he gave up seven runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Andy Phillips singled three times and he drove in a run. Bronson Sardinha and Kevin Reese each had two singles, a run and an RBI.
Eric Duncan pushed the Yankees to a 5-3 come from behind win with a huge three run homerun in the sixth inning. Shelly Duncan drove in the other runs while Andy Phillips had two hits and two runs.
Ross Ohlendorf had a rough start but the pen picked him up. Justin Pope was particularly good and he picked up the win with two perfect innings.
