Mitch Hilligoss picked up three of the Yankees six hits as they dropped their game to the Reds 7-1. One of Hilligoss’ hits was a double and he also drove in the lone Tampa run. Luis Nunez had the other three hits and he scored the lone run.
Ivan Nova took the loss and he fell to 0-1. He gave up two runs on six hits and two walks with two strikeouts in five innings.
Ivan Nova fell to 6-8 on the season with a rough start in the RiverDogs 6-3 loss to Augusta. He gave up the six runs on nine hits and a walk in four innings of work.
Kevin Smith had the big hit for the RiverDogs and he played a part in all three runs. He tripled, drove in two and then scored a run.
Ivan Nova fell to 6-7 on the season with a really tough start in the RiverDogs 7-5 loss to West Virginia. He gave up seven runs on ten hits with a strikeout in three innings of work.
Joseph Muich was the hitting star. He went two for five with a homerun and two RBIs.
The RiverDogs lost a tough one as a solid start by Ivan Nova went to waste. He gave up one run on four hits and two walks with three walks in six innings of work.
The offense managed just three hits and two walks in the loss. No hit was for extra bases and no hitter reached base more then once.
The RiverDogs made up their rain out game from the night before and lost both ends of a doubleheader to Hickory. The first game was a 5-2 loss and Ivan Nova took the loss with a rough start. He gave up five runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts in four innings of work and the loss dropped him to 5-5 on the season. Kevin Smith belted a solo homerun for half of the RiverDogs runs.
The second game was closer but it was still a loss. Jonathan Hovis took the loss when he gave up a run in the eighth inning. Eric Hacker gave up three runs in five innings in his start and Kyle Anson and Timothy O’Brien both hit solo shots in the 4-3 loss.
Ivan Nova did his job as he threw five shutout innings to keep the RiverDogs in their game against Asheville. Unfortunately, the pen was tagged for four runs and the hitters could put only one run on the board in a 4-1 loss. Jesse Hoover took the loss and he fell to 1-2 and he gave up two runs in 1 2/3 innings of work.
Kyle Anson was the hitting star in the loss. He went three for four.
The RiverDogs did a number on Kannapolis in their 10-0 win. They got good pitching from Ivan Nova, who improved to 5-4 on the season with five shutout innings. He gave up three hits with three strikeouts.
Kyle Anson had just one hit (a double) but he drove in four runs in the game. Eduardo Nunez went two for four with an RBI and three runs.
Ivan Nova fell to 4-4 on the seasoon with a tough start in the RiverDogs 11-4 loss to the Sand Gnats. He gave up eight runs on eight hits and four walks with two strikeouts in four innings of work.
Christopher Kunda went one for three and he drove in two runs. Josue Calzado went two for four with a run and an RBI.
The RiverDogs beat the Cat Fish 6-4 and Seth Fortenberry had a hand in more then half of his team’s runs. He went three for four with three RBIs and a run.
Ivan Nova improved to 4-2 on the season with the win. He gave up three runs (two earned) on eight hits and two walks with one strikeout in five innings.
It had to end eventually and whle Mitchell Hilligoss scored a run and drove in one, he didn’t pick up a hit to end his historic hitting streak at 38 games. He can’t be blamed because nobody was really hitting in the 3-2 loss because the RiverDogs picked up just five hits.
Ivan Nova dropped to 3-2 on the season with a decent start. He gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with one strikeout in six innings.
Ivan Nova improved to 3-1 on the season with a nice start in the RiverDogs 9-1 win over the Catfish. He gave up just one unearned run on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
Seth Fortenberry reached base five times (solo homerun and four walks) and Christpher Malec drove in two and scored a run despite not getting a hit. Oddly, for all of the runs scored by the RiverDogs, no hitter had more then one hit.
Ivan Nova got it done on the mound for the RiverDogs in their 3-2 win over the Catfish. He gave up just two hits and a walk with four strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Mitchell Hilligoss played a part in two of the RiverDogs’ three runs. He singled, scored and also drove in a run in the win.
Ivan Nova threw seven solid innings in the RiverDog’s 4-1 win over Rome. He gave up just one run on five hits and he struck out four.
Seth Fortenberry drove in two runs in the win. Wilmer Pino went two for four with a double, an RBI and a run.
Ivan Nova was roughed up and he took his first loss of the season in a 7-1 loss to Asheville. He gave up four runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.
Eduardo Nunez drove in the only run of the game with a solo shot. Both he and Mitchell Hilligoss had three hits in the game.
