Staten Island ran up the scored in their 9-5 win over Aberdeen and it was the light hitting Isaiah Howes who led the way. He went two for five with a double, a homerun and three RBIs. David Williams also had a nice game and he went two for four with a double, a walk, two RBIs and a run.
Ryan Pope picked up his first win of the season. He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk with three strikeouts in five innings of work.
Gabriel Medina improved to 1-0 on the season in Staten Island’s 6-3 win over Aberdeen despite being the only pitcher to give up any runs in the game. He gave up the three runs on six hits with three strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings of relief.
Luis Nunez went two for three with a double, two RBIs and a run. Isaiah Howes went one for four with a walk, a two run homer and two runs scored.
