The GCL Yankees won the third and final game of their best of three game series with GCL Dodgers for the GCL championship. Timothy Dennehy threw six great frames in the final and he gave up one run on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
Abraham Almonte was the hitting star. He went three for four with a double, two RBIs and three runs. Jesus Montero went two for five with a double, a homerun and two RBIs.
The GCL Yankees were shutout on six hits as the GCL Dodgers evened up their best of three game series for the GCL championship. Wady Rufino went two for four with a double in the loss.
Dickson Marquez took the loss despite a decent start. He gave up two runs on two hits with five strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
The GCL Yankees took a 1-0 lead in their best of three game series against the GCL Dodgers. Zoilo Almonte went three for five with a double, two RBIs and two runs while Geraldo Rodriguez went two for four with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Walter Ibarra had a team high four hits and he scored a run.
Justin Segal picked up the win. He gave up one run on one hit with two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.
The GCL Yankees overcame a 4-1 deficit to beat the GCL Twins 6-4 and they’ll advance to the best of three championship series against the GCL Dodgers. Walter Ibarra went two for two with a double and two RBIs while Melky Mesa went two for four with a triple and two RBIs.
Josue Selenes picked up the win with some impressive relief pitching. He didn’t allow a single base runner to reach and he struck out four in three shutout innings to close out the game.
The GCL Yankees finished up their season on Saturday and they didn’t even know it because today’s game was cancelled. The playoffs start tomorrow and the Yankees will face the GCL Twins in a one game first round matchup to determine who plays a best of three game series with the GCL Dodgers.
The Yankees got plenty of offense in their 11-8 win over the GCL Indians, and while Jesus Montero had just one hit, he played a role in four of the Yankees runs. He singled, drove in three runs and scored while Prilys Cuello had a team high three hits with a run and an RBI.
Link Saunders picked up the win with three innings of shutout relief. He struck out four and gave up just one hit in an impressive outing.
Angel Reyes was one of four GCL Yankees’ pitchers who held the GCL Phillies scoreless in one of their final games of the season. He gave up two hits and three walks with six strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings. Justin Segal picked up the win with 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief in the 4-0 win.
Wady Rufino was one of the hitting stars in the win. He went one for two with a double, a walk, an RBI and a run.
Two runs on six hits were all the GCL Yankees could manage in their 4-2 loss to the GCL Phillies. Zoilo Almonte was the only Yankee hitter with two hits and he went two for four with a run.
Casey Erickson fell to 3-2 with the loss. He gave up two runs on eight hits and a walk with two strikeouts in four innings of relief.
Dickson Marquez fell to 2-3 on the season with a rough start in the GCL Yankees 6-3 loss to the GCL Braves. He gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits with three strikeouts in five innings of work.

The GCL Yankees had just one decent inning but it was a big one as they scored all four of their runs in a 4-3 win over the GCL Tigers in the sixth inning. Jesus Montero was the hitting star in the win. He went two for four with a homerun and two RBIs.
Francisco Castillo improved to 2-0 with the win. He gave up one run on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in three innings of relief.
Brandon Laird went four for with a double and a solo homerun as the GCL Yankees 5-2 win over the GCL Blue Jays. Wady Rufino went went three for four with a run.

Michael Hyde improved to 2-0 with the win. He gave up two hits and he struck out two in three shutout innings of relief.
Noel Castillo fell to 5-3 on the season with a tough start in the GCL Yankees 7-2 loss to the GCL Indians. He gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits with five strikeouts in five innings.

Manuel Barreda improved to 4-0 on the season with a nice start in the GCL Yankees 4-3 win over the GCL Phillies. He gave up two runs on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings.

Jairo Heredia fell to 2-2 on the season with a rough relief appearance in the GCL Yankees 6-4 loss to the GCL Braves. He gave up four runs on nine hits and a walk with four strikeouts in five innings of relief.

After a couple of rain outs, the GCL Yankees played two and took two as they swept a doubleheader over the GCL Indians. The first game was an impressive offensive display in a 10-3 win. Gary Gattis went two for three with two RBIs and two runs while Kelvin Castro went two for three with an RBI and two runs. Francisco Castillo picked up the win with two shutout innings of relief.
Noel Castillo improved to 4-2 with a nice start in game two. He gave up three hits and he struck out two in five shutout innings in the 5-0 win.
