Jeffrey Marquez fell to 1-3 on the season despite a solid start in the Yankees 4-2 loss to Buffalo. He gave up two runs on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts in five innings.
Nick Green was the hitting star. He went two for four with a solo homerun. Eric Duncan went two for two with a pair of walks.
SWB took care of Lehigh Valley 3-2 and it was Darrell Rasner who got it done on the mound. He gave up just three hits with five strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Jason Lane had a nice day at the plate. He went two for four with a homerun and two RBIs. Eric Duncan also got it done and he went two for three with a double, a walk and a run.
Kei Igawa got it done on the mound today with six perfect innings. He struck out seven and the entire SWB pitching staff gave up just a single hit the entire game.
Eric Duncan went two for three with a triple, a run and an RBI. Jason Lane had only one hit, but it was a solo shot in the second inning.
SWB finished their season off with an 8-5 win as they looked on towards the Governors Cup. Eric Duncan went two for four with a homerun and three RBIs while Bronson Sardinha went two for five with a double, three RBIs and two runs. Brett Gardner had a team high four hits and he scored once and drove in one.
Eric Hacker picked up with the win and he improved to 1-0. He gave up two runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.
SWB won their sixth straight game as they blew out Pawtucket. Eric Duncan went two for four with a double, three RBIs, and two runs. Bronson Sardinha went one for three with two walks, two RBIs and two runs.
Matt DeSalvo improved to 9-5 on the season with a nice start. He gave up five walks and he struck out three in five innings of no-hit ball.
The Yankees fell to Buffalo 4-3 and while Kei Igawa wasn’t awful, he gave up the tying run in the seventh inning. Then T.J. Beam gave up a run in the eighth that proved to be the game winner for Buffalo.
Eric Duncan doubled and drove in two runs in the loss. Jose Cruz, Jr. went two for four with a solo homerun and two runs.
Jeff Kartstens improved to 2-0 on the season with a nice start in SWB’s 5-2 win over Rochester. He gave up two runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings of work.
Kevin Thompson went three for four with a solo homerun. Eric Duncan doubled twice, drove in a run and scored.
SWB continued their hot streak with another win and this time it was behind the arm of Ben Kozlowski. He gave up three hits and a walk with five strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Eric Duncan got it done at the plate. He went two for four with a triple, two RBIs and a run in the 6-1 win.
Eric Duncan and Alberto Gonzalez had big games in the Yankees fourth straight win. Duncan went two for four with a double, a homerun, four RBIs and two runs. Duncan went three for four with two doubles, a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
Kei Igawa was roughed up but the pen and the hitters picked him up in the 9-6 win. Brian Bruney picked up the win and he improved to 1-0. He gave up two hits and he struck out one in 1 1/3 innings.
The Yankees had a tough time at the plate and they lost to Rochester 4-1. Eric Duncan was the only hitter with two hits and he scored the lone run.
Kei Igawa took the loss and he fell to 3-4. He gave up two runs on eight hits and with six strikeouts in six innings.
SWB took two more against Pawtucket and in the process, they pushed their winning streak to six games. Both games saw solid pitching performances and it was Steven White who got it done in game one. He improved to 4-3 and he gave up two runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings. Bronson Sardinha went two for three with a double and an RBI.
In game two, Eric Duncan singled home Andy Cannizaro in the bottom of the eleventh inning to win it for the Yankees. Brett Gardner went three for five with two runs while T.J. Beam struck out the side in the top of the eleventh to pick up his fourth win of the season.
The Yankees managed only one run on six hits in a tough loss to the Rochester Red Wings. Eric Duncan and Juan Francia had the only extra base hits for the Yankees. Each had doubled and Duncan scored the lone run while Francia had the lone RBI.

Shelly Duncan scored on a sac. fly in the top of the ninth inning by Andy Cannizaro to give the Yankees the go ahead run in their 7-6 win over Indianapolis. Shelly Duncan was the hitting star in the win though. He went two for three with a walk, a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Eric Duncan chipped in with a homerun and two RBIs.
Ben Kozlowski picked up the win and he improved 3-6 on the season. He struck out three in two shutout innings.
The Yankees went into the ninth inning down by a run and pushed two across the plate to win it. Andy Cannizaro drove in the tying run while Eric Duncan doubled home the winning run for the 3-2 win. Erubiel Durazao scored two runs since the Yankees picked him up and Cannizaro finished the game with three hits and two RBIs.
A pretty good start by Steven White almost went to waste. He gave up two runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts in six innings of work. Sean Henn picked up the win with two shutout innings.
Jim Brower gave up a run in the eleventh inning and he took the loss in SWB’s 5-4 loss to Buffalo. He gave up one run on four hits and two walks and a strikeout in two innings of relief.
Eric Duncan was the hitting star. He went two for five with a double, a run and an RBI. Duncan’s been somewhat of a disappointment this year and he was highlighted in Kevin Goldstein’s column on the all-disappointment team.
Shelly Duncan had a big day at the plate in the Yankees 7-4 win over the Bulls. He went three for four with a homerun and three RBIs. Eric Duncan went two for five with a homerun, three RBIs and two runs while Jamal Strong scored three times.
Steven White picked up his first Triple A with a nice start. He gave up three runs on four hits and four walks with two strikeouts in five innings.
Kei Igawa was roughed up in a rehab start for the Yankees. He gave up four runs on eight hits and a walk with six strikeouts in five innings.
Eric Duncan provided all of the offense with two homeruns. He drove in all three runs and he finished with three hits in the game.
Colter Bean got the job done and he picked up his first win of the season in the Yankees 2-1 win over Norfolk. He gave up just one run on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings of work.
Shelley Duncan had a nice game and he went one for two with a walk and he scored both of the Yankees runs. Eric Duncan went two for two.
Eric Duncan pushed the Yankees to a 5-3 come from behind win with a huge three run homerun in the sixth inning. Shelly Duncan drove in the other runs while Andy Phillips had two hits and two runs.
Ross Ohlendorf had a rough start but the pen picked him up. Justin Pope was particularly good and he picked up the win with two perfect innings.
All eyes were on the SWB Yankees as Philip Hughes made his season debut. He looked pretty sharp and he struck out six in five innings of work. He gave up two runs on two hits and he gave up two walks.
Eric Duncan and Chris Basak each hit two run homeruns to provide the bulk of the offense in the 6-3 win. Alberto Gonzalez also had a solid game. He went two for three with a walk and two runs.
