Colter Bean gave up a grand slam in the first inning but while the Yankees clawed back into it, the pen allowed four runs in what turned into an 8-4 loss. Steven Jackson gave up one of those four runs but it was the one that mattered and he took the loss.
Bronson Sardinha and Angel Chavez each had identical lines. They both had two singles, a run and an RBI in the loss.
Just about everyone was a hitting star in the Yankees 13 run, 20 hit attack today. Raul Chavez homered twice, drove in three and scored three times while Kevin Thomspon had four hits and he came a homerun short of hitting for the cycle. He drove in one and and scored three times.
Colter Bean picked up the win with 5 1/3 solid innings of relief. He gave up two runs on three hits and he struck out six in the 13-4 win.
Colter Bean got the job done and he picked up his first win of the season in the Yankees 2-1 win over Norfolk. He gave up just one run on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings of work.
Shelley Duncan had a nice game and he went one for two with a walk and he scored both of the Yankees runs. Eric Duncan went two for two.
