This was a plain beat down. Ryan Pope fell to 2-6 in a 12-2 loss and he took the brunt of the damage. He gave up eleven runs (nine earned) on twelve hits and three walks with a strikeout in five innings.
Chris Malec was effectively the Thunder’s offense. He went four for four and he had four of the Thunder’s five hits. He also drove in their only two run with a two run blast in the ninth inning.
Trenton had a tough time getting anything going in their 5-2 loss to Akron. Jesus Montero went one for three with a walk and a run and an RBI while Chris Malec went one ofr three with a walk and an RBI.
A really good start by Ivan Nova went to waste in the loss. He gave up just a hit and two walks with three strikeouts in six shutout innings. J.B. Cox gave up three runs in 1/3 of an inning and he took the loss.
Trenton couldn’t get anything going at the plate as they lost to Connecticut 4-0. Chris Malec and Justin Snyder singled and that was it the entire game.
Zach McAllister took the loss and he fell to 5-3. He gave up four runs (three earned) on nine hits with eight strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings.
Zach McAllister improved to 4-2 on the season with a nice start in the Thunder’s 4-1 win over Curve. He gave up just a single run on five hits and three walks with ten strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. Kanekoa Texeira pitched 2 1/3 innings of shutout ball and he picked up his first save of the season.
Chris Malec singled, drove in two and scored a run. Kevin Smith singled in his only at bat and he had one RBI.
Phil Coke didn’t take the loss but he was hit hard none the less. He gave up six runs on nine hits and two walks with two strikeouts in five innings. Michael Gardner gave up two runs in two innings of shutout relief and he fell to 0-1.
Chris Malec and Cody Ehlers both homered and drove in two runs in the 8-7 loss. Jose Tabata doubled twice, drove in two runs and scored once.
Eric Wordekemper and Joshua Schmidt combined to give up a run in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Thunder lost to the Curve in the final at bat of the game. A decent start by George Kontos went to waste. He gave up three runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
Chris Malec went two for four with a triple and a run in the loss. Colin Curtis went two for four with an RBI.
