There were plenty of hitting stars in the RiverDogs 9-2 win over the Sand Gnats but at the front of the line was Raymond Kruml. He went three for five with a triple, a walk, four RBIs and a run. Corban Joseph also had a nice game and he went three for six with a home run, two RBIs and two runs.
David Phelps improved to 8-2 with another solid start. He gave up two runs on seven hits with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
David Phelps has been as good as gold most of the season but he fell to 7-2 on the season with a decent, but not good enough start. He gave up three runs on eight hits and two walks with a strikeout in six innings.
Neall French went three for four with an RBI. Jose Pirela went three for four with a double and a run.
The RiverDogs couldn’t get much going at the plate in their 7-2 loss to Augusta and they were held to just five hits. All five were singles and MelkyMesa singled, drew a walk and drove in one in the loss.
Andrew Brackman was roughed up in his start. He fell to 1-5 and he gave up six runs on six hits and three walks with five strikeouts in three innings.
Pat Venditte gave up a run in the ninth inning and that proved to be the difference in a 3-2 loss to Augusta. He gave up just one hit but it was a leadoff triple and while he punched the next batter out, the following hitter belted one deep enough to score the game winner.
All six RiverDogs hits were singles. Daniel Brewer singled, drew a walk and scored a run.
The RiverDogs had their share of hitting stars in an 11-4 win over Augusta but nobody drove in more runs then Neall French. He finished two for four and he drove in four runs while Daniel Brewer had two doubles, two triples, two RBIs and four runs.
David Phelps continued his impressive season and he improved to 7-1. He gave up four runs (one earned) on eight hits and a walk with six strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
The RiverDogs lost to Rome 2-1 despite a solid start by Hector Noesi. He fell to 2-4 and he gave up two runs (one earned) on eight hits and one walk with six strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.
The offense was held to just seven hits. Daniel Brewster was the hitting star and he went two for three with a walk, a double and an RBI.
The RiverDogs went down 2-0 early in this one but they kept at it and ended up doubling Rome’s run total in a 6-3 win. Corban Joseph singled and drove in two while David Adams doubled twice and scored a run.
Daniel Kapala was very effective on the mound and he improved to 3-0. He gave up three hits and he struck out one in 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief. Pat Venditte threw 1 2/3 innings of shutout ball to close out the game and he picked up save number 19.
Manuel Banuelos improved to 3-2 on the season with a nice start in the RiverDogs 5-3 win over the Sand Gnats. He gave up just one unearned run on two hits and one walk with eight strikeouts in five solid frames.
David Adams went one for two with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Abraham Almonte singled and he scored two runs.
