Grant Duff improved to 10-5 on the season with a nice start in the RiverDogs 7-3 win over the Sand Gnats. He gave up three runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts in six innings.
Seth Fortenberry scored a run and drove in two without getting a hit. Christopher Kunda went one for two with two walks and two runs.
Ivan Nova fell to 4-4 on the seasoon with a tough start in the RiverDogs 11-4 loss to the Sand Gnats. He gave up eight runs on eight hits and four walks with two strikeouts in four innings of work.
Christopher Kunda went one for three and he drove in two runs. Josue Calzado went two for four with a run and an RBI.
Eric Hacker improved to 4-2 on the season in the RiverDogs 7-5 win over the Sand Gnats. He gave up two runs on seven hits and a walk with five strikeouts in six innings.
Seth Fortenberry had a nice day at the plate in the win. He went two for three with a solo homerun, a walk and three runs scored.
Michael Dunn improved to 9-3 on the season with a great start in the RiverDogs 4-0 win over Rome. He gave up just one hit and two walks with eight strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
Josue Calzado went two for four with a double, two RBIs and a run. Christopher Kunda went two for three with a double and two RBIs.
The RiverDogs had a tough day at the plate in their 2-1 loss to Rome. Seth Fortenberry singled and he drove in the only run for Charleston. Mitchell Hilligoss singled and scored the only run.
Hector Noesi took the loss and he fell to 1-1 on the season. He gave up two runs on five hits and a walk with one strikeout in three innings.
The RiverDogs picked up two runs in the top of the eighth inning and those two runs turned out to be the difference in their 6-4 win over Rome. Mitchell Hilligoss went three for five and he drove in a run while Christopher Kunda doubled and he drove in three runs.
Ferdin Tejada threw two shutout innings and he picked up the win. He gave up two hits and he struck out three.
The RiverDogs hitters didn’t show up as the team was shutout 6-0 by Augusta. Seth Fortenberry was the only hitter to reach base twice. He singled and drew a walk.
Michael Dunn didn’t even make it through the first inning. He got two batters out and he gave up six runs on five hits and two walks.

Mitchell Hilligoss brought the big stick with him in this game. He went two for four with a double and he drove in one of the two RiverDogs runs.
Erik Hacker fell to 3-2 on the season with a rough start in the RiverDogs 6-2 loss to Augusta. He gave up five runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk with four strikeouts in five innings.

Kyle Anson was the hitting star in the win. He went two for four with a double, two RBIs and a run.
The RiverDogs beat the Cat Fish 6-4 and Seth Fortenberry had a hand in more then half of his team’s runs. He went three for four with three RBIs and a run.

Gabriel Medina fell to 1-2 on the season with a tough start in the RiverDogs 4-2 loss to the Cat Fish. He gave up four runs on five hits with two strikeouts in five innings of work.
Brian Aragon was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for four with a triple and he scored a run.
The RiverDogs blasted the Sand Gnats 12-2 and Brian Aragon led the way with the stick. He went three for five with a double, a homerun, five RBIs and two runs. Seth Fortenberry also had a nice game and he went three for six with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs. Mitchell Hilligoss extended his hitting streak to three games with a single in six at bats. Seriously, this is an amazing stretch for Hilligoss. I don’t have a complete game log, but he’s reached base in his last 40+ games.
Lost in all of the offense was a really nice start by Grant Duff. He gave up four hits and four walks with four strikeouts in six shutout innings and he improved to 7-4 on the season.
The RiverDogs and Sand Gnats each took a game in their doubleheader. In the first game, the RiverDogs scored three late runs but the comeback came up short in a 4-3 loss. John Axford took the loss and he gave up three runs in two innings while Brian Aragon went one for three with two RBIs. Mitchell Hilligoss singled and stole two bases.
Game two went quite a bit better with a 2-1 win. David Robertson picked up the win with two innings of shutout relief. Mitchell Hilligoss hit a solo homerun and he extended hit new hitting streak to two games. Kyle Anson went two for three with a solo homerun.
It had to end eventually and whle Mitchell Hilligoss scored a run and drove in one, he didn’t pick up a hit to end his historic hitting streak at 38 games. He can’t be blamed because nobody was really hitting in the 3-2 loss because the RiverDogs picked up just five hits.

It didn’t come until his fourth at bat, but Mitchell Hilligoss extended his hitting streak to 38 games with a double. You have to feel for Christopher Malec as the Mitchell Hilligoss show overshadowed an excellent day at the plate. He went two for four with a grand slam and five RBIs.
Michael Dunn improved to 6-2 on the season with a nice start in the 5-2 win. He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk with five strikeous in seven solid innings.
