Man, what a tough game to take. The Yankees took a 3-1 lead into the ninth only to see Jeff Karstens nice start go to waste. Ben Kozlowski and Ross Ohlendorf combined to give up three runs in the top of the ninth to turn that two run lead into a one run loss. With the loss, the SWB Yankees came to an end.
Jose Cruz, Jr. went two for four with a two run homer in the loss. Bronson Sardinha doubled twice and he scored a run.
SWB lost their first playoff game despite a solid outing by Steven White. The right handed pitching prospect gave up three runs on seven hits and two walks with one strikeout 5 2/3 innings.
Juan Francia went two for four with an RBI. Bronson Sardinha walked twice and belted a solo homerun.
SWB finished their season off with an 8-5 win as they looked on towards the Governors Cup. Eric Duncan went two for four with a homerun and three RBIs while Bronson Sardinha went two for five with a double, three RBIs and two runs. Brett Gardner had a team high four hits and he scored once and drove in one.
Eric Hacker picked up with the win and he improved to 1-0. He gave up two runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.
SWB won their sixth straight game as they blew out Pawtucket. Eric Duncan went two for four with a double, three RBIs, and two runs. Bronson Sardinha went one for three with two walks, two RBIs and two runs.
Matt DeSalvo improved to 9-5 on the season with a nice start. He gave up five walks and he struck out three in five innings of no-hit ball.
Matt DeSalvo improved to 7-4 on the season with a nice start in the Yankees 8-2 win over Syracuse. He gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits and four walks with seven strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
Bronson Sardinha went two for four with a double and a solo homerun in the win. Erubiel Durazo went one for two with a solo homerun, two walks and two runs.
Angel Chavez doubled home Brett Gardner in the top of the eleventh inning to win it for the Yankees. Chavez also pitched in earlier in the 5-4 win with a solo homerun and Bronson Sardinha had a team high three hits.
Ian Kennedy had a mediocre start (for him) and he gave up three runs on seven hits and four walks with two strikeout in two innings. Edwar Ramirez struck out five in two innings and he improved to 1-0 on the season.
Ben Kozlowski fell to 3-7 with a tough start in the Yankees 9-4 loss to Buffalo. He gave up four runs on five hits and three walks with one strikeout in three tough innings.
Alberto Gonzalez was the hitting star in the loss. He went four for four with a double and an RBI. Bronson Sardinha went two for four with a double, a homerun and two RBIs.
SWB took two more against Pawtucket and in the process, they pushed their winning streak to six games. Both games saw solid pitching performances and it was Steven White who got it done in game one. He improved to 4-3 and he gave up two runs on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings. Bronson Sardinha went two for three with a double and an RBI.
In game two, Eric Duncan singled home Andy Cannizaro in the bottom of the eleventh inning to win it for the Yankees. Brett Gardner went three for five with two runs while T.J. Beam struck out the side in the top of the eleventh to pick up his fourth win of the season.
Jeffrey Marquez was knocked around and he fell to 11-7 in the Thunder’s 14-2 loss to the Mets. He gave up eight runs (seven earned) on seven hits and four walks with three strikeouts in just 2 2/3 innings. Michael Gardner was bombed for six runs on ten hits in just 1 1/3 innings.
Bronson Sardinha singled, doubled and drove in both Thunder runs. Reegie Corona singled and he scored twice.
Jason Jones fell to 8-6 on the season with a rough start in Trenton’s 6-2 loss to Reading. He gave up four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk with three strikeouts in five innings of work.
Both Trenton runs came via solo shots. Dan Conway and Bronson Sardinha both hit one over the fence with nobody on base.
P.J. Pilittere and Gabriel Lopez both had big days at the plate in Trenton’s 9-3 win over Reading. Both had three hits and three RBIs while Bronson Sardinha went two for five with a walk and two runs. Cody Ehlers helped out with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.

Joba Chamberlain did it again as he pitched the Thunder to a 6-2 win over the Fisher Cats. He gave up just three hits and a walk with nine strikeouts in seven shutout innings.
All of the offense came on a pair of three run homers. Cody Ehlers and Bronson Sardinha both went yard with two men on base.
Ian Kennedy didn’t get the decision in the Thunder’s 6-4 win even though he threw a nice game. He gave up just two runs on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. Justin Pope threw two no-hit shutout innings and he picked up the win.
Bronson Sardinha pretty much put the team on his back as far as the hitters go in this one. He went three for three with a triple, a homerun, four RBIs and two runs.
Chase Wright improved to 4-3 on the season with a pretty nice start in SWB’s 8-0 blowout win over Syracuse. He gave up three hits and four walks with a strikeout in seven shutout innings.
Bronson Sardinha went one for four with a homerun and four RBIs. Kevin Reese went two for two with a homerun, two RBIs and two runs.
Colter Bean gave up a grand slam in the first inning but while the Yankees clawed back into it, the pen allowed four runs in what turned into an 8-4 loss. Steven Jackson gave up one of those four runs but it was the one that mattered and he took the loss.
Bronson Sardinha and Angel Chavez each had identical lines. They both had two singles, a run and an RBI in the loss.
Matt DeSalvo improved to 4-0 on the season with a nice start in the Yankees 3-2 win over Charlotte. He gave up two runs on four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in seven innings.
Bronson Sardinha had the big hit of the game. His two run homer provided the bulk of the Yankees offense. He also had two of the team’s four hits.
Angel Chavez had a big day for the Yankees in their 15-4 win over Buffalo. He went three for six with a homerun and five RBIs. Bronson Sardinha also had a nice game and he went three for four with a triple, an RBI and three runs scored.
Chase Wright coasted to an easy win with all of the run support. He improved to 3-2 and he gave up three runs on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
SWB lost to the Clippers 8-2 and Steven Jackson gave up most of the runs with a tough outing. He gave up six runs on eight hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 3 2/3 innings.
Raul Chavez drove in both Yankees runs with a double in the sixth inning. Bronson Sardinha didn’t get a hit, but he drew three walks and he scored one of the runs.
SWB pitching was hammered a 17-4 loss to Ottawa. Steven Jackson was roughed up in his start and he gave up eight runs (four earned) on eight hits and three walks with one strikeout. Justin Pope also took it on the chin and he gave up seven runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Andy Phillips singled three times and he drove in a run. Bronson Sardinha and Kevin Reese each had two singles, a run and an RBI.
SWB dropped two today as they tried to make up a game from earlier in the week. They lost 8-2 in the first game with a rough start by Tyler Clippard. He gave up four runs on seven hits and three walks with three strikeouts in five innings. The loss dropped his record to 0-2. Bronson Sardinha hit a two run homer to account for both Yankee runs and Alberto Gonzalez went three for three with a run in the 8-2 loss.
Matt DeSalvo had a solid start but the Yankees still couldn’t win it in a 3-2 loss. He gave up a run on three hits and four walks with four strikeouts in five innings. Omir Santos went two for three with a double and a run.
Philip Hughes showed he was mortal with a lackluster start against Richmond. He was knocked around for five runs on seven hits and two walks with one strikeout in five innings.
The Yankees were shutout and they managed just four hits. Two of those came off the bat of Bronson Sardinha.
SWB lost a tough one in a 4-3 loss. Shelly Duncan had a huge game at the plate. He went three for three with a walk, a homerun, two RBIs and a run. Bronson Sardinha went two for five with a double and an RBI.
Steven Jackson had a decent start but he didn’t get a decision. He gave up two runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts in five innings of work. Ron Villone took the loss and he gave up the game winner in the ninth.
