RiverDogs Hitters Held In Check In Loss to Rome

by @ 6:30 pm. Filed under Justin Snyder, Adam Olbrychowski, Charleston RiverDogs - April 2008, Brad Suttle

The RiverDogs picked up just a single run in their 4-1 loss to Rome.  Justin Snyder and Brad Suttle combined for five of the RiverDogs seven hits but oddly, neither drove in or scored that lone run.

Adam Olbrychowski took the loss although his start was hardly poor.  He gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five innings.

RiverDogs Take Two Over Rome

by @ 11:37 pm. Filed under Jairo Heredia, Noel Castillo, David Williams, Charleston RiverDogs - April 2008, Brad Suttle

The RiverDogs walked away with two wins tonight, the first a tight game and the second a blowout.  Game one was 5-4 and while Jairo Heredia wasn’t exceptional, he put together four decent innings in which he struck out an impressive seven batters.  Brad Suttle was the only hitter with two hits and he drove in a run.

The second game was a 13-0 beatdown.  There were plenty of hitting stars but David Williams was a notch above the rest.  He went four for five with a double, three RBIs and a run.  Noel Castillo had an exceptional start but he fell a batter short of picking up the win.  He gave up three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.
