Man, what a tough game to take. The Yankees took a 3-1 lead into the ninth only to see Jeff Karstens nice start go to waste. Ben Kozlowski and Ross Ohlendorf combined to give up three runs in the top of the ninth to turn that two run lead into a one run loss. With the loss, the SWB Yankees came to an end.
Jose Cruz, Jr. went two for four with a two run homer in the loss. Bronson Sardinha doubled twice and he scored a run.
SWB held off a tenth inning rally by Richmond to even up their series at a game a piece in a 6-4 win. Jose Cruz, Jr. made a contribution with a single, a double and a run while Juan Francia doubled, drove in a run and scored.
Kei Igawa had a decent start and he gave up just two runs in five innings. Ben Kozlowski picked up the win despite getting into trouble in the tenth inning and it was T.J. Beam who pitched the Yankees out of the tenth to pick up the save.
The Yankees clinched the North Division last night with a 6-3 win over the Chiefs. Doug Mientkiewicz continued to rake and he went two for three with a double, a walk, three RBIs and a run. Brett Gardner singled, drove in a run and scored twice.
Ben Kozlowski improved to 5-7 with a nice start. He gave up one run on three hits with six strikeouts in five innings of work.
SWB continued their hot streak with another win and this time it was behind the arm of Ben Kozlowski. He gave up three hits and a walk with five strikeouts in six shutout innings.
Eric Duncan got it done at the plate. He went two for four with a triple, two RBIs and a run in the 6-1 win.
Ben Kozlowski fell to 3-7 with a tough start in the Yankees 9-4 loss to Buffalo. He gave up four runs on five hits and three walks with one strikeout in three tough innings.
Alberto Gonzalez was the hitting star in the loss. He went four for four with a double and an RBI. Bronson Sardinha went two for four with a double, a homerun and two RBIs.
Shelly Duncan scored on a sac. fly in the top of the ninth inning by Andy Cannizaro to give the Yankees the go ahead run in their 7-6 win over Indianapolis. Shelly Duncan was the hitting star in the win though. He went two for three with a walk, a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Eric Duncan chipped in with a homerun and two RBIs.
Ben Kozlowski picked up the win and he improved 3-6 on the season. He struck out three in two shutout innings.
SWB lost to the Knights 4-3 and a decent start by Steven White went to waste. He gave up two runs on seven hits with two strikeouts in six innings. Ben Kozlowski took the loss when he gave up the deciding run in the ninth inning.
Kevin Thompson was the hitting star in the loss. He doubled twice, drove in one and scored a run. He also reached base a third time by drawing a walk.
The Yankees lost another. This time it was a 7-4 loss to Rochester that saw the opposition scored all seven of their runs from the sixth inning on. Sean Henn did his job and he threw five shutout innings before they pen imploded. Ben Kozlowski took the loss and he gave up four runs (just one earned) on three hits and a walk with one strikeout in 1 1/3 innings.
Jamal Strong was the hitting star in the loss. He went two for five with two triples and two runs. Shelly Duncan hit a solo homerun and that was his fourteenth long ball of the year.
The Yankees beat Indianapolis 8-5 and Angel Chavez played a big part in the win. He went three for four with a double, a homerun, three RBIs and two runs. Kevin Reese went three for four with two RBIs and a run.
Eric Junge was hit hard and he gave up five runs in five innings in his start. Ben Kozlowski threw two perfect frames and he picked up the win.
Ben Kozlowski was hit hard and he dropped to 1-2 on the season in a 4-3 loss to Ottawa. He gave up three runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.
Andrew Beattie provided most of the offense for the Yankees. He went two for four with a two run homer.
The Yankees lost a tough one to the Chiefs today. They gave up two runs in the bottom of the eighth that would eventually send the game into extra frames and then Ben Kozlowski gave up a run in the bottom of the fourteenth to lose it. Particularly impressive in relief was Charlie Manning who struck out five in three no-hit innings.

The Yankees picked up their third straight win in an 8-5 win over Richmond. Andy Phillips and Shelly Duncan each hit two run homeruns to lead the way and Angel Chavez and Chris Basak each had three hits and two runs.
Ben Kozlowski picked up the win with three shutout innings of relief. He struck out four.
