New York Yankees Minor League Baseball Commentary and Analysis

If you want the expensive Yankees seats, they’re not too hard to come by. And while I’m not big on the bleachers, I’m also not into dropping four figures to watch baseball. Still I pick up some primo tickets to some good baseball. Then again, if the Yankees are playing, it’s a given that the baseball is going to be good.
The first game I’m going to is coming up this weekend because I got Mets tickets. I’m fired up to see the Yankees and the Mets square off in interleague action and I’ll be at the Saturday game that’ll be on Fox. I’m really excited to see Andy Pettitte pitch one more time because he keeps threatening to call it quites. Livan Hernandez has been a new pitcher this year and he’s throwing for the Mets. Livan threw seven shutout innings in his start yesterday and Pettitte was pretty good as well so I’m hoping it’ll shape up to be a solid pitchers dual. Of course balls are flying out of the park at Yankee Stadium so it could also just as easily be a home run fest.
The second game I’ll be going to is at the end of this month and it’s the opener against Seattle Mariners. Seattle’s not horrible like they were last year but they’re hardly lighting the world on fire either. Still, I’ve never gotten to see Ichiro in person and it’d be cool if things were timed right so I could see Felix Hernandez pitch in person.
Then I don’t get to go to a game until August when the Rangers roll into town. While Texas Rangers baseball isn’t exactly what most people think of as a good time, they are in first place still and if things hold, they could be the Yankees first round playoff opponent. I’m not sure if Josh Hamilton will be back by then but that team could rake and it’ll be interesting to see how they contend with the new launching pad.
Anyway, that’s the three games I’ll be at this year. It’d be nice to go to a few more games but I’m not holding my breath. Usually my schedule precludes me from most of the games and then just getting tickets last minute can be a pain. Of course come playoff time, I’ll be searching for some nice seats.
