Austin Jackson had a big day at the plate in Tampa’s 8-2 win over Lakeland. He went two for five with a double, a triple, three RBIs and a run. Jared Greenwood went three for three with a walk, two RBIs and a run.
Anthony Claggett improved to 9-8. He gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings.
Doug Mientkiewicz was the hitting star in Tampa’s 12-2 blowout win over Lakeland. He went three for three with two doubles, five RBIs and a run. Christopher Malec also had a great day at the plate and he went three for four with a double, a walk and four runs.
Anthony Claggett improved to 8-8 on the season. He gave up one run on four hits and one walk with four strikeouts in six innings of work.
Anthony Claggett improved to 7-8 on the season in a nice start in Tampa’s 6-0 win over Palm Beach. He gave up just three hits and a walk with two strikeouts in five shutout innings.
Jared Greenwood went two for four with a double, a homerun and three RBIs. Marcos Vechionacci went three for four with a triple and two runs.

Christopher Malec went two for three with a double and three RBIs to lead Tampa in the win. Eduardo Nunez went two for four with a run.
Tampa and Fort Myers played two because of a rain out the day before and both teams took a game. In the first game, Anthony Claggett threw five shutout frames and he improved to 4-8 on the season with the win. Christopher Malec was the hitting star and he went three for four with a run and an RBI in the 4-1 win.
In the second game, Tampa lost 4-2 and they had a tougher time getting runs across the plate. Kevin Russo went two for three with a double and an RBI to lead the way at the plate. Wilkins Arias dropped to 6-2 and he gave up three runs in two innings of relief.
Tampa swept Lakeland in their twin billing and the first game made the headlines with a seven inning no-hit shutout by Daniel McCutchen and Jose Veras. McCutchen picked up the win and he threw five of those seven innings. He gave up five walks and he struck out two and the win pushed his record to 11-2 on the season. Tim Battle had a nice day at the plate and he went two for three with a triple and a run.
The second game was closer but the Yankees still pulled it out. Austin Jackson belted a two run homer to lead the offense and Anthony Clagget picked up the win and he improved to 3-8. He gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks with five strikeouts in five innings of work.
Anthony Claggett gave up five runs in five innings but because the Yankees came back, he didn’t take the loss. Unfortunately, David Robertson gave up two runs in his two innings of work and he gave the lead back up to St. Lucie.
Jared Greenwood hit a three run homer in the loss. Edwar Gonzalez went two for four with a double, an RBI and a run.
Tampa couldn’t score a single run despite matching Clearwater with nine hits in a 5-0 loss. Austin Jackson was probably the hitting star and he went two for four with a double and a walk.
Anthony Claggett took the loss and he fell to 1-7 on the season. He gave up five runs on seven hits and one walk with two strikeouts in four innings of work.
Tampa came back from a 5-2 deficit to beat Lakeland 7-6. Jose Tabata had just one hit but the drove in three runs while Reegie Corona went three for four with two runs.
Anthony Claggett picked up his first win for Tampa and he improved to 1-5 on the season. He gave up five runs on nine hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in five innings.
Tampa got pretty much no offense in a 2-0 loss to Palm Beach. Two singles isn’t going to cut it and James Cooper was the only Yankee to reach base twice with two walks.
Anthony Claggett dropped to 0-5 on the season despite a nice start. He gave up one unearned run on four hits and two walks with a strikeout.
The Yankees got plenty of offense in their 9-2 win over Sarasota. Tim Battle drove in three runs and scored twice, Reegie Corona scored three times and drove in two and Colin Curtis was a perfect four for four with a run and an RBI.
Eric Hacker gave up two runs in six innings and he picked up the win. Anthony Claggett threw three shutout innings and he picked up his second save of the season.
Tampa lost 2-1 but it wasn’t because the pitching was bad. Ian Kennedy got it done with five solid frames. He gave up just a single run on six hits with five strikeouts. Anthony Claggett took the loss when he gave up a single run in the eighth inning.
Reegie Corona scored the only run of the game for Tampa. All the hitters racked up were five hits and all of them were singles.
