Trenton took care of New Hampshire 3-2 and it was Phil Hughes who got it done on the mound. He gave up just a run on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. Schaefer Hall gave up a run in his two innings and he picked up his first save of the season.
Raymond Kruml went three for four with a double and a run. Robert Lyerly went two for four with a home run and two RBIs.
David Phelps didn’t get the win in the Yankees 1-0 win over the Knights, but you can’t scoff at seven shutout innings. He gave up just five hits and three walks with eight strikeouts. Tim Norton picked up the win with a shutout eighth and Kevin Whelan pitched a shutout ninth to pick up his 18h save of the season.
Gustavo Molina went two for three and he drove in the lone run of the game. Kevin Russo was the man he drove in.
Tampa beat Jupiter 2-0 and Jairo Heredia got it done with a really nice start. He improved to 4-1 and he gave up four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in eight shutout innings. Ryan Flannery struck out the side in the ninth and he picked up his fourth save of the season.
Walter Ibarra went four for four with a double and an RBI. Abraham Almonte went two for four.
